Rooted in Iranian architectural culture, Life Residential Building brings simple volumes, brick, light, water and planting into a familiar contemporary setting. Privacy, belonging and opportunities for social interaction guide the relationship between its interior spaces and facade.
Identity and everyday life
The design seeks a contemporary space that feels familiar, drawing on Iranian architectural principles of privacy, simplicity and a respectful relationship with neighbouring buildings. Materials, colour and texture reinforce this connection, while shared interior spaces encourage gathering and a sense of belonging.
Light, brick and balconies
Brick screens temper harsh western light. Multiple angled balconies on the west facade are designed to capture favourable southern light, frame views and support interaction with the outdoors. The movement of daylight across the facade carries this spatial experience into the interiors.
A familiar threshold
At the entrance, water and light create a quieter transition from the city. A pool, greenery and terracotta vessels evoke familiar domestic memories, complementing the warmth of the brick.
